Flying is our unique selling point: the one thing that puts the "air" in "Air Cadets". Cadets get to go flying at some weekend events, and almost always get the opportunity as part of annual camp. With progression, they may be offered a scholarship which generally culminate in solo flight.
The Grob 115E 'Tutor' - the same aircraft used for RAF flying training - is used for cadet flying, based at one of 12 Air Experience Flights (AEFs) located around the country; at Hawarden, we fly from 8AEF at RAF Cosford. Cadets fly with volunteer pilots - current or serving RAF pilots or commercial pilots - all of whom give up their time to fly with cadets.
